5Motion - Men 5Motion - Women Video The innovative 5Motion design combines 3D preshaped wings and a deep split at the back bridged by vented mesh to allow for multidirectional motion and amazing comfort. Developed with the B.E.M. (Beveled Edge Molding) high-density perforated memory foam. This technology eliminates drastic drops of heights from one area to the other, resulting in a smooth transition, no pinching points and no chafing. Mesh area at the front adapts to the body for increased comfort and moisture wicking. Multi-thickness perforated high-density foam for better moisture evacuation. The top sheet contains carbon fibers and has high-tech bacteriostatic properties. Central channel shaped to relieve pressure from the urethra (men only). Louis Garneau patented ergonomic shape. Ergo Air® concept for maximum ventilation International patent pending.

How to Measure: For the most accurate results, take measurements over your underwear or close-fitting apparel. Take the measurement twice to ensure accuracy. Use a flexible tape measure.
(1) Chest: Relax arms at your side. Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
(2) Waist: Bend to one side to find the natural crease of your waist. Then, stand straight and measure around your waist at this point. Keep the tape measure a bit loose.
(3) Hip: Stand with your feet together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips, at the tope of your legs.
(4) Inseam: Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
(5) Body Length: Run a tape measure from the top of your shoulder, across your chest/belly, through your crotch and up your back to meet the starting point.
(6) Neck: Measure around the fullest part of your neck.
DescriptionEvery aspect of the Course M-2 bodysuit is designed to provide maximum aerodynamic efficiency, and wind tunnel tested for validation. The body is made with CB Speedtech which, as its name implies, is designed for speed, with a dimpled mesh construction that improves aerodynamics for speeds from 25 to 70 km/h. The ultra texturized construction of the CB M-2 sleeves allows better laminar airflow, reducing the rider's drag factor. Along with the lazer-finished collar, thighs and sleeves that provide a smooth transition to the skin, the invisible zip at back helps prevent disruption of the airflow and improve the rider's overall aerodynamics.
3 Customer Review(s)I am male, 6'0" and 150 lbs, so a pretty slim build. I purchased a men's size medium and it fits me perfectly. The shorts part are comfortably tight, the way I like it. The torso is also tight but comfortable. The arms fit snugly. Overall, the fit for me is perfect. I was thinking about getting a size small, but I think that would be too tight.
I was really hesitant about having the zipper in the back, as I thought it would be a big problem for me, but it is not. Even though I have shoulder problems and therefore limited range of motion in my shoulders, I am able to zip and unzip the zipper by myself, although just barely. And the benefit of the rear zipper is the greatly improved fit in front. I have a front zippered Garneau sleeveless tri suit, and although I like the fit of the tri suit in the front, the fit of my new Course M-2 Bodysuit feels so much better.
I love the materials used. They stretch enough for a good fit, but not as much as the material in my tri suit, which ended up stretching too much. I had to have a seamstress take in the tri suit in some areas after a few weeks of use because it became too loose fitting, even though it felt just right when I first got it. I have not noticed any excessive stretch in the M-2 suit in the few weeks I have used it. Overall, the M-2 materials provide a perfectly skin tight but comfortable fit.
I like the lazer cut leg edges. No seam to dig into my thighs. However, I suspect the the edges will curl up in time as they did with my lazer cut tri suit. This is not a big deal in my opinion, as the amount of curl is pretty small in the end, and doesn't detract from the feel on my thighs.
I bought the M-2 Bodysuit at a special end of season price. Even at full price, this suit would be worth it. The regular price is significantly less than other company's bodysuits (look at the price of the new Specialized S-Works Evade GC Skinsuit-$500 US, so almost $700 CDN, more than double the regular price of the Louis Garneau M-2 Bodysuit).
Overall, I am really pleased with the M-2 Bodysuit. It is far and away my favourite piece of cycling clothing. I will purchase another one once this one wears out.
Quality Price ValueAs someone that has done a lot of time trials over the years and has a lot of power data, I can confidently determine approximately how much faster any change to my TT setup is. This suit was around 5 to 10 seconds faster for a 15 km TT, over my existing club skin suit.
The fit is not any worse than any other skinsuit I have owned, but I really wish that I could get this skinsuit with Size Medium Shorts, a Size Small upper, size Extra Small Arms. I can understand why things are sized the way they are but when the size of the shorts is linked to the size of the upper, the fit for someone that is both tall and skinny is not going to be good. I really wish they would offer an option for someone with skinny arms.
So, at 6'2" 170 pounds, I tried to squeeze in to the Course M-2 bodysuit in a size small, the shorts were crushing my legs it was so tight, but the upper was good, and the arms were snug, but not tight. But still I wanted size small to work. I when for a ride, and basically found it was just too uncomfortable for me to wear. The lower legs were pinching the muscles in the back of my legs and the suit was stretched length wise so tight, it was pulling across my back.
The size medium, was still tight in the legs, but not to the point where the shorts were inflicting pain. The upper was still tight, but not pulling length wise like the small. But unfortunately, the arms were now a little loose.
While, I could probably take this to a seamstress to be altered, I’ve done this before with other suits, and the stitching just isn’t as good, so, I don’t feel it is worth it for a minor issue with the arms.
The general construction of the suit is very good. No complaints about seams, stitching or materials.
The chamois in suit was nice, certainly much better than the Biemme stuff I have. In particular, the edge of the chamois smoothly transitions to the lycra.
Because the suit will be stretched tight, the stitching needs to be solid. In particular, that rear zipper really needs to be solid. On those points, the suit did not disappoint.
The laser-finished collar, thighs and sleeves that provide a smooth transition to the skin, however the problem with the legs for me was because there is no seam, just laser cut lycra, the lycra was curling a little at edge. Currently, the fabric edge still looks ok, but I am concerned about the longevity of this design, and whether the lycra will curl up worse in the future.
On the aspect of the back zipper, this is definitely something someone really needs to think about whether they want this or not. The back zipper does make the fit in the front much better, with absolutely no bunching up at all. However, because the suit is tight, it is very difficult to unzip is yourself, and for some, it will likely be impossible. For me, the improved fit with rear zipper is worth it, but for some, the rear zipper might be too much of a PIA to be worth it.
Overall, at 50% off this suit was an excellent buy. At the current price, it is still worth it. Just don't expect miraculous improvements to your time trial times.
For sizing, I think you really just need to base the size on the smallest size of LG shorts you can fit in to. The Upper on this suit will stretch comfortably and you really want it to be as tight as possible.
Quality Price ValueThe suit has no back pocket! You will have to find somewhere else to stash your gels, energy bars, etc
Or use it for very short run.
